AntoCostaSette – Humana Vintage

ANTOCOSTASETTE is a Milanese brand created by Antonella Costantino whose mission is to translate tartan into a modern and rock expression.

The iconic Scottish fabric is the obsession of designer Antonella Costantino who wants to mix history and cultural traditions with contemporary fashion.

The tartan identifies first of all the typical plaid pattern used to make the kilt, an identifying sign since the seventeenth century of the Scottish clans who populated the Highlands and who used this piece of fabric wrapped around the waist for hunting and battles.

ANTOCOSTASETTE proposes modern and comfortable pieces all made in Italy, exactly in Milan, where the designer lives and follows the whole process from the selection of fabrics, to the design and production of the collection.

ANTOCOSTASETTE offers pants, jackets, dresses, skirts and even kimonos, all made in original tartan or tartan print fabrics.

The ecological commitment of ANTOCOSTASETTE is always present in its collections and in its storytelling also through the reinterpretation of the legend of the mermaid and the sailor that from the Scottish tradition is translated into an ecological key as a hymn to the sea without plastic.

In fact, the phrase “no plastic” is one of the brand’s claims and is often hand-painted on many garments.

For the AW 21/22 season, ANTOCOSTASETTE announces its prestigious collaboration with Humana Vintage, the brand of HUMANA People to People Italia, a politically independent and secular humanitarian organization founded in 1998 to support development projects in the South of the world and social and awareness actions in Italy.

HUMANA finances and implements projects, contributing to the protection of the environment also through the collection and sale of used clothing thanks to the HUMANA Vintage stores, designed to rediscover clothing and accessories in respect of sustainable circularity.

The collaboration that will be presented together with the new collection ANTOCOSTASETTE FW21 / 22 concerns 50 original vintage Scottish kilts that will be reinterpreted and customized by the designer in a logic of upcycling.

Each item will be unique, numbered, hand-decorated and will represent a collector’s item for a sustainable wardrobe.
